Applus+ Velosi Middle East is involved in cleaning of pipes, inspection via CCTV camera as well as rehabilitation of pipes and manholes.
In industrialized countries, most households are connected to pipeline systems. However, the existing network is often in poor condition, endangering human lives and the environment. Rehabilitation of pipelines has become an indisputable necessity. Problems include leaking joints, root intrusion, sedimentation, misalignments, cracks (structural failure), and collapse of pipes. Consequences are blocked supply, water ingress, pollution of the underground, flooding, and road collapse.
With increasing costs of replacing pipelines, and work in the road getting more difficult with growing traffic intensity, no-dig techniques to restore performance by renovating pipelines are economically and environmentally desirable.
Our solution
  • Pipe Cleaning: Jetting to remove all debris including sand, silt, roots, scale and grease from inside the pipelines. The vacuum will lift all debris from the manholes into the waste tank.
  • CCTV Inspection: Inspection of pipes ranging from 80mm to 1600mm diameter. Services include pipe deflection, internal pipe measurements, lateral pipe connection measurements, tilt surveys, and joint gap measurements.
  • Cured-in-place Pipe (CIPP) / Glass Reinforced Pipe (GRP) Lining / UV Technology from DN 100 to DN 1600.
  • Patch Repair: Localized structural CIPP repair.
  • Pipeline Robots: Milling, grinding, filling and injection for misplaced pipe connections, roots, encrustations, concrete blockages as well as opening laterals after patch repair or CIPP lining. From DN 100 to DN 1000.
  • Manhole Inspection & Rehabilitation: Cured-In-Place Liners, Cementitious Coatings/Grouts, Polymer Modified Coatings.
  • Pipe Bursting: Used to replace existing pipelines in the same alignment without physically removing the existing pipeline.
  • Close Fit Lining: Deformed Pipe, Die Drawing or Rolldown linings.
The benefits of pipeline rehabilitation are many, but some of the key advantages are as follows:
  • CIPP/GRP does not require excavation to rehabilitate a pipeline that is either leaking or structurally unsound. The liner is installed through a manhole or other existing access point. This offers a huge cost saving especially in city areas with heavy traffic and congested areas.
  • In the case of sewer lines, lateral connections are also restored without excavation via a remote controlled robot that drills a hole in the liner at the point of the lateral connection.
  • CIPP/GRP has a smooth interior and no joints and is stronger than the original pipe, adding up to 50 years of additional service for existing lines.
  • CIPP/GRP can effectively reduce infiltration and leaks in pipeline systems without digging.
