Opening of K2 Industrial Safety Training Center K2 Specialist Services celebrated the grand opening of its new industrial safety training centre in Goeje, South Korea, on 8th October, 2014 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The event was attended by K2’s clients as well as the Applus+ Velosi group CEO, and Applus+Velosi Country Manager for South Korea.  On hand to welcome the guests were K2’s Managing Director, David Griffin, and K2 Country Manager, Jonathan Sam.

This new facility, which comprises of 200 square meters of indoor space and 330 square meters of outside capacity, offers a range of DROPS, Work at Height, Confined Space, Rigging and Slinging, and CompEx training, as well as a range of first aid and rescue courses.

This purpose built centre has an internal training bay with multi-levelled platforms.  It incorporates built-in facilities such as confined space area, tunnel and blackout room, rigging and slinging bay, and also caters to various real life scenarios for practical training components of the courses.  The new training centre is well positioned to meet the needs of K2 Korea’s growing client base for training.

“We expect steady growth over the next 3 years of between 10-15% year on year,” said Jonathan Sam, K2 Korea Country Manager.

K2 provides a range of safety training courses to international drilling contractors and operators in Korea, as well as to a local shipyard, and a number of local rope access companies.
