To continue providing global quality services, Applus+ Velosi joined forces with K2 to increase its offer. William Greenwood has been appointed as the Regional Manager for Middle East Rig Services, with responsibility both for K2 services and for the existing rig inspection business in the region.
"A busy and exciting time lies ahead for both companies with the integration and training of personnel, to ensure that client expectations are met in line with Applus+ Velosi and K2’s high standards”, Greenwood stated.
Applus+ Velosi has a continued and valuable experience in the Middle East market, providing inspection, certification and rehabilitation services. Now K2 added their knowledge to improve the region’s existing expertise in Lifting Equipment Inspection, Rope Access and Non-Destructive Testing. The already established Applus+ Velosi offices provide logistics, manpower and support services.
Just after establishing the new services, K2 was awarded with its first work in the area. An International Contractor hired K2 to carry out Lifting Gear Inspection, Derrick Inspection, Ultrasonic Thickness Gauging, Dropped Object Survey, Bolt Torqueing & Pressure Relief Valve inspection, in Port Khalid (UAE). Thanks to the coordination between both companies, equipment and manpower were ready to be onsite within 48 hours.
In words of William Greenwood, this award was "a fantastic start to the venture which only confirms the reputation of K2 as experts in their field, a lot of challenges have been overcome by both companies in the undertaking of this (still ongoing) project".
