Past June 4th was a day of celebration and enjoyment for our Omani colleagues. The young engineers that had been training for years could finally graduate in a ceremony that gathered relevant figures of the Oil&Gas industry together with all Applus+ Velosi Oman staff. This had been a long awaited event, as young trainee Salim Saif Nasser Al Muqbali expressed himself: “I don’t have words to express my excitement”.
Brian Dawes, Middle East Regional Manager of Applus+ Velosi, attended the event to congratulate them and be present at the handing over of the QA/QC Certificates. The documents accredit that they have been successfully trained in various NDT techniques, Materials Inspection, Painting & Coating Inspection (BGAS) and as ISO Auditors, among many other skills.
“It is one of the greatest achievements of our company and we are proud to be part of this success. Probably only Applus+ Velosi has achieved such a tremendous success in our area of business in Oman. We have trained over 80 Omani engineers since year 2004 in various disciplines, being one of the longest and toughest training programs in the industry”, said S. Renukamurthy, Applus+ Velosi Oman Country Manager. “To celebrate such success we have invited key customers and dignitaries to this event, which is a great motivation for the young national engineers”, he added.
The celebration took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, gathering senior executives from E&P companies.  Speaking on the occasion, the OHI Group CEO and Applus+ Velosi Oman’s local partner, Mr. Eihab Maqbool Al Saleh said, We have been committed towards employee empowerment and with the right training support it creates an environment that is conducive to growth. Developing our Omani talent is essential towards creating a sustainable future and we are proud of this milestone.”
Other prominent names such as Raoul Restucci, Managing Director of Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) and Abdullah Al Shuely, Director of Engineering & Operation (PDO) were also present. Mr. Restucci showed his delight with the training and affirmed that “Applus+ Velosi serves as a role model in the industry”.  Mr. Al Shuely also contributed to the pride of the nationals by stating that “training is the foundation to build a stable career, and these graduates have the right stepping stone into the Oil & Gas industry. I congratulate them on their achievement and wish them success”.
We also want to congratulate the young engineers, wishing them a very rewarding experience being part of the Applus+ Velosi Group.
