Applus+ Velosi Oman celebrates Safety Day 2015 & 45th National Day The two events coincided and created a festive atmosphere in the Muscat office.

27/11/2015

Our office in Oman celebrated Safety Day 2015 to promote the prevention of occupational accidents and hazards. This yearly awareness-raising campaign focuses international attention on emerging trends in the field of occupational safety and health.
This is the second Global Safety Day in Applus+, celebrated on the same day across all Applus+ Velosi offices, with one common slogan: Keeping us safe! The main goal of this edition was to promote personal responsibility towards everyone’s safety, in order to raise awareness on the magnitude of work-related hazards and injuries.
Mr. Renukamurthy, GM Operations for Applus+ Velosi Oman, affirmed that “safety is essential for all of us. No task, activity or job is so important that it cannot be done safely. Our safety is a value that should never be compromised. The objectives are part of an overall goal of creating and strengthening the Health & Safety culture in the workplace and integrating the same with the work culture”.
Safety Day 2015 coincided with Oman’s 45th National Day, which was celebrated with enthusiasm on 18th Nov 2015, gathering all staff members. The Chief Guests for the event were Mr. Saeed Al Hinai, Deputy Manager of HSE (BP), and Mr. R. Sundaresan, Construction Quality Lead (PDO).
Brightly decorated with balloons and flags with the national colors of red, green and white, a festive atmosphere prevailed across the Applus+ Velosi office, where employees wore the traditional Omani dress to mark the festivities. Brian Dawes, Regional Manager for Applus+ Velosi Middle East, was also present at the event and thanked his majesty for all the collaboration and support that Applus+ Velosi has found in its business in Oman.
